Welcome Message
The ground penetrating radar (GPR) International Advisory Committee has a major commitment for sustainable development of environmentally friendly society. The Committee has been consolidating technical information and sharing technical knowledge and experience in novel GPR systems and antennas, numerical modeling, data processing and interpretation, and applications in a variety of fields including agriculture, archaeology, sedimentology, hydrology, concrete/pavements, geology/geotechnical engineering, diagnostic of historical buildings, glaciology, mining and tunneling, utilities detection and mapping, planetary exploration, demining and UXO, etc.
In previous years, the Committee has already successfully organized thirteen international conferences. The five most recent ones were held in Santa Barbara, CA, USA (2002), Delft, The Netherlands (2004), Columbus, Ohio, USA (2006), Birmingham, UK (2008), and Lecce, Italy (2010). During the GPR2010 Conference, the Advisory Committee selected Shanghai, China to be the host city of the 14th International Conference on Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR2012). GPR2012 will inherit the legacy of the previous symposia to highlight the most recent technical advancements and case studies on ground penetrating radar for engineers, scientists, and all kinds of end users.
